MFN Meeting: Sept. 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

The September meeting of the Macomb Feminist Network will be held Saturday, Sept. 10 from 1-2 p.m. in the Macomb City Hall Community Room. Rebekah Buchanan and Barbara Harroun are scheduled to discuss their Books for Prisoners Project, part of the statewide Reading Reduces Recidivism initiative. Following their 45-minute presentation, we hope to zip through our business agenda and end early, at 2:00 p.m.

Immediately following the meeting, County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes has agreed to provide the necessary training for MFN members to become Deputy Registrars. The training will take about an hour, depending on the time it takes for Q&A, and will begin at 2:00 p.m. Once trained, DRs can register potential voters for elections, including the upcoming November election.

Appointments are for two years and can be renewed.  Please seriously consider becoming a DR. League of Women Voter members are planning multiple opportunities to register voters between now and October 7 and would welcome our help.
